The Brooks Joshua Anderson Foundation-501(c)(3) was established in May of 2016, following the unexpected passing of our son Brooks on January 28, 2016, to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Brooks was an extremely happy and healthy boy and thriving in every sense of the word. Like all infant and pregnancy deaths, his death was devastating and confusing to all who loved and knew “Brooksie”!
Since its establishment, the Brooks Joshua Anderson Foundation has worked to fulfill our mission to keep Brooks' legacy alive and ultimately end the mystery of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Through the Books from Brooks Memorial Scholarship and contributions to our partner research foundations, the Aaron Mathew SIDS Research Guild of Seattle Children's Hospital, and the American SIDS Institute, we have put 100% of the funds raised back to work.
In 2022 we partnered with the Cribs for Kids organization to establish The Brooks Anderson Cribs for Kids program at Banner Wyoming Medical Center. We are in the final stages of completing this partnership, and our goal is that all babies and families in Natrona County will soon have access to a free cribbette through completing the Cribs for Kids safe sleep education course. Our primary goal is to get our program rolling locally here in Casper; however, we have big ambitions that this program can spread to other labor and delivery hospitals throughout Wyoming.
